Barking Dockers 2004

Dockers to Give Geelong the Cat'O'Nine Tails

 Match Preview by Andrew Lacy

Both teams come into this game chock full of confidence after stirring victories in round four. The Cats belted the increasingly useless Tigers, while Freo thumped the Magpies. The theory that this will be a close game is very much a myth. This game will be so one-sided that it will make Gallipolli look like an even contest. Speaking of which this is the Len Hall Anzac Day game and if previous years have been any indication, both the pre game entertainment and the game itself should be stirring to say the least.

Last year, the Dockers posted their highest ever score against the Kangaroos in the last Len Hall game, in what will not only be remembered for that mighty feat, but also for featuring the highest number of Aboriginal Players in one side, plus it was Moose's comeback game.

Koops is no longer with us and Woods is no certainty to get a game, so it will be a less Aboriginal team which will take the field this weekend. Roger Hayden has been named despite pulling a hamstring last weekend, and Des Headland returns after being a last minute withdrawal for the Collingwood clash.

The Cats will be hopeful after a creditable performance against the Swans two weeks ago, on top of their excellent win over the Tigers last week. Ben Graham made a huge comeback with six goals and Riccardi also made impact upon his return. But the sad reality is, it was only the miserable Richmond Tigers that they defeated, hardly something to hang your hat on for any self respecting AFL side.

The Game starts at 2:10 PM and should be over by about 2:15 PM, so make sure you get there on time...
