Barking Freo Dockers

Fremantle Dockers Player of the Week

 Player of the Week

The Player of the week gets announced after all Bark Members give their 3-2-1 on the discussion board. The winner gets announced on the Wednesday after every game.

The Winner this week is: Matthew Pavlich! The big Pav played another dominant, bagging a lazy 6 (albeit one was stolen from his mate Haze) to lead the purple army to their first victory in a while against bogey team the Kangaroos. Pav is looking for more paraphernalia to adorn his newly acquired pub, the Seaview and as such is making strong moves to claim another Balding Speedster Trophy.

Last Week: Michael Johnson! This young man is the sensation of 2006. In a game with few winners for the men in purple, Johnson is thrown forward and responds by kicking 3 goals towards our paltry score. Could he be the first man to win the Balding Speedster trophy in only his second season?

Round 8: Matthew Pavlich!

Round 7: Michael Johnson! This young man is the sensation of 2006. In a game with few winners for the men in purple, Johnson is thrown forward and responds by kicking 3 goals towards our paltry score. Could he be the first man to win the Balding Speedster trophy in only his second season?

Round 6: Josh Carr! There were a number of candidates here, but the Locomotive's performance of nearly 30 disposals, umpteen clearances 9 tackles and most importantly in this absorbing (but low scoring) affair, 3 goals 2 points. What a game and was obviously the popular choice for that silly medal. Carr didn't care, he was stoked to have won the one that mattered, the mighty Barking Dockers Player of the Week!

Round 5: Matthew Pavlich! The big Pav played his first dominant game of the year, bagging 6 of the best to lead the purple army to their first victory (sort of) in that structurally unsound backwater of Tasmania. Pav thought he heard the siren then wondered if it was his rumbling stomach, as pasting the St. Kilda defence had given him an appetite.

Round 4: Antoni Grover! Cookie Monster was given the unenviable task of playing on a red hot Mark Ricciuto and beat him hands down. Using his tactile strength, piercing runs, and marking power, Grover was one of the select few shining lights in a stifling game against the defensively mined Crows. Grover was reported to shed tears on hearing of his first Bark POTW award, "Mama is gonna be so proud!" he said.

Round 3: Michael Johnson! The only question mark left in this boy's game is his ability to shut down a powerful forward. He can mark, he can kick, he can run like the wind and he is cool under pressure - obviously benefiting from Mark Harvey's backline tutelage (because we don't want to give CC the credit now do we!).

Round 2: Ryan Crowley! Creepy was supposed to be tagging Nick Stevens, but as he did last year, the little tryo looked like the player that was supposed to be tagged banging 2 great goals and knocked up getting the leather like no tomorrow. An absolute revelation from being so close to having his AFL dream shut off 2 years ago.

Round 1: Paul Haselby! In a disgraceful team performance, Haselby was the only player to compete with Hawthorn's rampant midfield. He got plenty of the ball and got his fair share of clearances. Haze has put an early stamp on the award he has called his own in recent times.
